1. Toei Movie Village
The most famous theme park in Kyoto is Toei Kyoto Movie Village.
It is often actually used for filming movies, and the sets of period dramas can be seen as they are.
Depending on the timing, you may run into the filming site.
Here, visitors can transform into a ninja, a maiko, a princess, or a warlord, and slip back in time to the world of historical dramas.
Of course, you can rent costumes only, but there are also a variety of options, including full-scale courses where you can have your hair tied and dressed.
Kids will also be excited to see programs where they can play the role of special effects heroes and popular anime characters.
Other attractions include a ninja house, a karakuri dojo, and a haunted house, so both adults and children can fully enjoy themselves.
Please come in costume and take pictures at one of the many photo spots.
○Word of mouth
There was also a spot to take pictures of Gintama, which the children enjoyed. The ninja experience was fun.
Edo Period! That's what I was thinking. The feeling of an Edo period town was amazing. I was able to take many pictures.
There were also students on a school excursion from the Kanto area. This theme park can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
There are sometimes exhibitions, and there was an exhibition of Hibari Misora.
Time travel to a period drama! The atmosphere was great.

At the outdoor plaza "Activity Hills," there is a dome-like space called "Fluffy Dome," which looks like a trampoline, and you can jump around a lot and move your body. The 140-meter-long roller slide is also very powerful! Even adults will be able to return to their childhood memories.
○Word of mouth
We enjoyed a barbecue at the campground. Accommodations included a restaurant and outdoor food.
The facility is fun even if you stop by empty-handed. The rental of boards was free, and I was able to enjoy the slides without getting my clothes dirty.

It is the second oldest zoo in Japan and has a mini amusement park on the premises.
Although not large in scale, the zoo has been renovated and offers new rides as well as rides with a retro atmosphere. Gondolas with zoo-like illustrations and a small Ferris wheel make it a great place to enjoy not only the zoo but also an amusement park at the same time.
○Word of mouth
I went there with my family because of its easy accessibility. In addition to the zoo, there were 4 attractions for the children to enjoy.
The children under elementary school age were free, so cospa! The giraffes were cute.
I also learned a lot of information about the breeding methods and characteristics of the animals. The penguins were cute.
We were able to touch rabbits and gerbils during the touch time. The rides at the amusement park were also good.

5. Amanohashidate Viewland

Amanohashidate Viewland, located at the top of Mt. Monju, overlooking Amanohashidate, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, is a combination of an observation deck and an amusement park full of nature.
The park's retro merry-go-round is a great place to take your children for a ride.
Also, since the SL locomotives are traveling around the park, visitors can think about what they would like to play with next while riding on the locomotives.
The Ferris wheel, an essential part of the amusement park, is even higher than the top of the mountain, so the view is great, but a little scary.... In addition to attractions such as archery and go-carts, there are also swings and other cute playground equipment for the little ones to enjoy.
And the "crotch peeking platform," which many people visit for this purpose, is a famous scenic spot where Amanohashidate is said to look like a dragon flying in the sky. Please come and see what it looks like.
