Sunday Bookstore Fufurusha Music, Books and Exhibition Room
Sunday Bookstore Furu Furu Sha is located a two-minute walk from Randen Taimada Hiroyuji Station. This bookstore, which appears in a traditional residential area, is an unusual private bookstore open only on Sundays.
The soft light shining through the entrance, which looks like an old house, creates a space that is a bit removed from everyday life. The books we carry come in a variety of genres. You can also pick up a book based on your own intuition.
In addition to books, FURUFURUSYA also offers zines, CDs, and sundries, which are gaining attention as booklets of free ideas created by individuals. Come and meet your own unique work of art.
the Hoho
Located a three-minute walk from Philosophical Road, "Hohohoza Jodo-ji Store" is a popular bookstore that blends in with the quiet townscape.
The books selected cover a wide range of genres, including food and lifestyle, art, poetry, and folklore. Finding a favorite book among the tightly arranged books is like a fun treasure hunt.
In addition to books, Hohohoza also offers creators' goods, ceramics, and clothing, making it a great place to find souvenirs.
Keibunsha Ichijyoji Store
One of the best bookstores in Kyoto is "Keibunsha Ichijyoji Store". Keibunsha has been selected as one of the "World's Greatest Bookstores" by a British newspaper.
The selected novels, picture books, and poetry collections are all wonderful and offer new discoveries. Many of the books are related to Kyoto, so please be sure to pick one up.
In addition to books, Ebunsha also offers stationery and household goods. Especially noteworthy are the wide variety of postcards located near the entrance.
It will be fun to take your time to look for a design you like. It is also a good idea to gently add a postcard with a warm and attractive design as a souvenir.
