Yoshida Shrine is located in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, and was built in 859 (the first year of Jougan era) on Yoshida Mountain, located at the demon's gate, as the guardian deity of Heian-kyo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Daimonomiya Shrine, which enshrines gods from all over Japan, is designated as an important cultural property and is said to offer blessings by many other gods, including the god of good fortune, the god of cooking, and the god of sweets.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Yoshida Shrine dates back to the Heian period (794-1185) when Fujiwara no Yamakage, a court noble, welcomed and enshrined the god Kasuga at Mt.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
From there, it was worshipped by many as the guardian god of Kyoto, but the Onin War broke out in the Muromachi period (1336-1573).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Yoshida Shrine holds several events throughout the year, the most famous of which is the Setsubun Festival.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Setsubun Festival is held over three days before and after Setsubun day.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The festival is so popular that about 500,000 visitors come to the shrine on February 2 for the day before Setsubun, on February 3 for the day of Setsubun, and at 2:04 p.m. for the day after Setsubun, to pray for the sacred gardenia-color (gardenia-color) omifuda, which are powerful prayers to ward off bad luck.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
On the 2nd and 3rd, there will be about 800 food stalls, which is a great opportunity to bring the kids along.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
