White beans are sprinkled on top for a different flavor and texture.<br>Motifs tend to be too specific and comical, but this abstract atmosphere is very elegant and chic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tororo manjuu with Otafuku motif<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"502\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/kyotreat.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/st2unnamed.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyotreat.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/st2unnamed.jpg 502w, https:\/\/kyotreat.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/st2unnamed-294x300.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: KYOTREAT Editorial Department<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsuruyayoshinobu.jp\/\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsuruyayoshinobu.jp\/\">Kyoto Confectioner Tsuruya Yoshinobu<\/a>This is a Japanese yam, Tororo manjuu, made by \"Tororo\". The design here is also a very abstracted expression, but the exquisite curves and the strange balance make it instantly recognizable as Otafuku, which shows the underlying strength of this long-established shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otafuku\" is a character from a Kyogen play that has been performed since the Edo period (1603-1867), and has become an indispensable character for Setsubun because it calms and soothes a rampaging demon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside the yam grated yam dough, which has a firm and plump texture, is moist strained bean paste. It is a simple taste that makes you realize the use of high quality ingredients. Let's enjoy it with a wish for health and happiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Okame and Oni no Okashi<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lastly, I would like to introduce you to the \"<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eirakuya.co.jp\/\" title=\"https:\/\/www.eirakuya.co.jp\/\">pleasure house<\/a>It is a dry confectionery of the \"Mere Old Man\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is made in the shape of an Okame and an ogre, in reference to the Okame Setsubun Festival, during which a kyogen (a comic story about an ogre) is dedicated at the Senbon Shakado Hall to exhort the ogre.
