What other attractions are there?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiking trails are one of the most memorable parts of the trip.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama, located halfway up the Arashiyama mountain range, is about 160 meters above sea level.<br>The nature-filled hiking trails lead visitors up gentle paths and stairs while enjoying the changing scenery of the four seasons.<br>After about 20 minutes of climbing, the Japanese macaques you will encounter will give you a sense of accomplishment that you would not normally feel on a normal visit to a zoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The most fun part of the experience is feeding the animals.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the top of the mountain where the monkeys gather, you can feed the monkeys by handing them apples and peanuts over the fence for 100 yen. Please observe the monkeys up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25cb\u25cbThere are many monkeys, including baby monkeys and parent and child monkeys.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the 120 Japanese macaques, you can see a baby monkey walking, a parent monkey carrying a baby monkey on its back...and many other different types of Japanese macaques.<br>The monkeys here are called the Arashiyama group, and since all solid specimens have been identified, all information is known, including parent-child relationships and dates of birth.<br>In other words, their behavior and lifestyle will give you an insight into the society of wild Japanese macaques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25cb There is also playground equipment.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a playground, slides, swings, and other playground equipment near the rest area around the summit.<br>Especially popular are the Tarzan rope and the slide. On a clear day, you can even see Kyoto Tower, so please look for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You can also see other animals.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama is home to many wild animals other than Japanese monkeys.<br>For example, raccoon dogs, flying squirrels, wild boars, weasels, deer, etc.... We are lucky if we meet various animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review of Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>The climb up the slope and stairs took about 20 minutes. It was quite difficult, but there were benches along the way, so we took a break while climbing. At the top of the mountain, there were many cute Japanese macaques, which made the climb memorable.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>At the entrance was the Ichitani Munakata Shrine \"Ichitani Munakata Jinja\". Sneakers are good for climbing. I feel like I enjoyed climbing the mountain.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>To see the Japanese macaques, we had to climb to the top of the mountain. I thought carefully about what to wear and what shoes to wear. It was very beautiful to see the town of Arashiyama.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>The monkeys were too close! But the staff was watching us and the monkeys were quiet and good. The slope was quite difficult. It might be hard if you carry a child in your arms.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>The scenery and the Japanese macaques were wonderful. The father and son monkeys were too cute.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>The Japanese macaque monkeys, accustomed to people, were walking around without any caution. There were so many of them, it was amazing.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>When we came to the top of the mountain, we saw many Japanese monkeys. There were baby monkeys, too, and they were so cute. The children were very happy.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>You can see wild monkeys up close. It was fun to feed them.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>It was a 20 minute ride to the top of the mountain. There were many attendants so I felt safe and comfortable feeding the animals with my children. The view was also nice.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark>It's great for animal lovers, and we saw deer. There were many baby monkeys and they were adorable. However, since you can visit here almost empty-handed, even those with children can feel free to come and have fun. The area is about two times the size of the Tokyo Dome!
