El camino hace una curva en el centro, lo que le confiere un ambiente tranquilo similar al de Kioto. A ambos lados hay tiendas de kimonos, almacenes generales y cafeter\u00edas en casas machiya reconvertidas, y son recomendables para comprar recuerdos y hacer un breve descanso del viaje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Se dice que fue un lugar muy importante hist\u00f3ricamente, y que aqu\u00ed estuvo la residencia de Dainagon Fujiwara no Kouto, de quien nacieron varias emperatrices. Tiene una enorme puerta en su entrada y conecta Horikawa-dori y Omiya-dori. En la actualidad (enero de 2022), la mayor parte de la puerta est\u00e1 cubierta con andamios y cortinas debido a las obras de renovaci\u00f3n, pero se ha construido un alto muro que hace que parezca un viaje en el tiempo al Kioto del periodo Edo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A la derecha del callej\u00f3n se encuentra la hermosa puerta \"Karamon\", decorada en dorado, azul y verde, y el jard\u00edn de infancia, que tiene el aspecto de un almac\u00e9n. A la izquierda se alza el edificio del Campus Omiya de la Universidad Ryukoku, un bien cultural de importancia nacional y escenario del rodaje de un drama \u00e9pico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tras atravesar el callej\u00f3n y llegar a Omiya-dori, el Acuario de Kioto, el Parque Umekoji y el Museo del Ferrocarril de Kioto est\u00e1n a 10 minutos a pie.
