Kyoto has many famous places known as "Meisui" (famous water).
In such a case, what you would especially like to visit is not just famous water that you can see, but "famous water that you can drink.
If you go to the trouble of visiting a shrine or other famous water source, you will want to quench your thirst with drinkable water.
Therefore, we would like to introduce three famous waters that can be drunk in Kyoto.

2. Famous water you can drink in Kyoto: Mikosui

Gokozui" is very famous locally.
Gokozui, selected as one of the 100 best waters, is located at Mikamiya Shrine.
Mikamiya Shrine is located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.
The beautiful carvings in the hall of worship and the main shrine, which is designated as a national important cultural property, are popular among tourists, and many visitors come daily to the famous onsen, which was used by the Tokugawa lords Yorinobu, Yorifusa, and Yoshinao as a birthwater.

Gokozui" is famous as a famous water for healing. I always take some when I stop by.

Lastly, I would like to introduce Kame no I.
This is the famous water at Matsuo Taisha Shrine in Arashiyama.
Matsuo-taisha Shrine was built in the first year of the Taiho Era (701 A.D.) on this site.
The place is famous as the oldest shrine in Kyoto with a history of more than 1,300 years.
There is a statue of a turtle here, and water gushes from it.
The natural scenery and cool water will relieve the fatigue of travelers.
Also, please take a look at the waterfall called Reikame-no-taki as well as Kame-no-i.

The torii gate was there as soon as I got off the train at Matsuo Taisha Station on the Hankyu Line and walked out. You should stop here on your tour of famous water in Kyoto. There is a sacred water, Kame-no-i, in the precincts of the shrine, which is said to be used for brewing sake.
The water is delicious and famous. It is the oldest shrine in Kyoto and the atmosphere is terrific.

This is a wonderful shrine with a solemn atmosphere. There is a beautiful waterfall, a wonderful garden, and many other attractions.
It is said to be the oldest shrine in Kyoto. It was like stepping back in time. The turtle statue of Kame-no-i was cute.
