■What kind of restaurant is "Benten no Sato"? What are its features?
Recently, Benten-no-Sato has been the talk of the town as it has been featured in the TV media, but what exactly is it like? First, let's take a look at the characteristics of Benten-no Sato.
○○ A store in a secluded area
The first feature is that it is located in a secluded area.
Benten no Sato is located in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, and has a store on Route 423, which runs from Kameoka City to Kawanishi City.
There are almost no landmarks to be seen, giving the impression that the store is tucked away in a place rich in nature.
If I had to name a landmark that would identify it as a store, it would be the sign that says "egg and rice store" or "direct sales.
The building itself is small, like a hut, and if you didn't notice it, you might walk right past it.
○○ A restaurant specializing in egg rice! What's on the menu?
Benten no Sato is said to have a line out the door during business hours anyway, but what kind of restaurant is it?
The answer is "a restaurant specializing in egg rice.
The menu gives the impression of being exactly what it is: egg on rice.
Rice with egg (rice level) → ¥400
Large bowl of rice with egg → ¥450
As for the second helping of rice
Additional serving of rice → +150 yen
Add extra large bowl of rice → +200 yen
The first two are the following.
Other menu items (toppings) include minced pork cutlet, benten pudding, miso soup, minced chicken, and kimchi.
There are several soy sauces for egg rice,
Soy sauce for omelette rice
Garlic soy sauce
Sansho soy sauce
You can use the following as you wish.
○All-you-can-eat raw eggs
The most important feature of Benten-no-sato's egg rice is that it is "all-you-can-eat raw egg.
While you may see such things as free refills of rice in most restaurants, here there is no time limit and raw eggs are all-you-can-eat.
○○Exquisite restaurant prepared by a hermit
One media outlet introduced Benten-no-sato as a hermit's exquisite restaurant, and the egg rice served here is truly exquisite.
Although take-out is not available, rice, eggs, vegetables, etc. can be purchased at the Furusato Sanbishin Nishibetsuin Store, a direct sales shop next door, so it is recommended that you take them home and arrange them in your own way.
Koshihikari rice produced locally in Kameoka is also delicious.
Review of "Benten-no-sato
What are the reviews of Benten no Sato?
I've been curious about this place for a while. Simple menu, easy to order, and delicious! I want to come back.
The all-you-can-eat eggs are amazing! Highest cosmetics! The place was packed and there was a line. The best I've ever tasted.
The toppings included minced chicken and kimchi. There were different kinds of soy sauce to enjoy the taste.
It is all-you-can-eat eggs, but it is more than enough as 4 eggs come from the first order! The eggs are just delicious.
...and bought chicken, eggs, and vegetables at the direct sales store. Stopped by the store on a touring trip, would like to come back.
