This local line is popular for its restaurant and cafe trains with elaborately designed interiors, which run through famous places such as Amanohashidate, Maizuru, and Miyazu, setting it apart from other local trains.
A particular highlight is during the run between Tango Yura and Tango Kanzaki. The sea spreads out from both windows, offering a unique and spectacular view.

When the author visited, cars could park as much as they wanted in front of Tango Omiya Station, and since it was off-season, it was free of charge.
After taking the train and enjoying the ocean, we drove again to the Mamato area.

orchard

From Manito, drive toward Kumihama.

The surrounding area is called Kyotango Fruit Trail, and there are many orchards selling various fruits depending on the season. There are also roadside stations along the trail.

Since it was early autumn when I visited, the main products were 20th Century pears and Shine Muscat. There are many shops selling pears and muscats, and of course they are cheaper than those in supermarkets or department stores. At the store where I bought muscats, I received pears as a free gift.
