Located on the grounds of a hotel in Higashiyama Shichijo, "pastry boutique" is a popular place to taste high-quality bread.
The restaurant reopened a few years ago and now has an eat-in space where you can relax and enjoy freshly baked crispy croissants and other breads and coffee in the morning.

With a wide variety of baked goods and fresh cakes, it is hard to decide which to choose.

This place is also famous for its special apple pie.
Carefully baked with delicious apples, the apple pie shines gorgeously like gold and is truly exquisite with its firm sweetness and refreshing sourness.

2. Robinson Karasuma

This popular restaurant is not mainly a bread store, but is run as an Italian restaurant in a renovated Kyomachiya.
The highlight of lunch is the all-you-can-eat homemade bread. The bread changes daily, such as melon bread and salted bread, and you can enjoy it along with the course or individual menu items.

Dishes are also seasonally prepared with seasonal ingredients, so you are sure to find something new any time you visit.

We ordered the all-you-can-eat bread, pasta, and mini salad set. The explanation was very good and the freshly baked bread was delicious.
The menu was very extensive. The pasta and bread were delicious and could be recommended to those who want to eat hearty.
I was there and they had fig bread and it was delicious. I would like to come back because I could not eat all kinds of food.
The bread was so good that I couldn't choose from a basket full of it. The main course was delicious.

You can enjoy buttered toast, French toast, croque-monsieur, hot dogs, and other items on the set menu.

4. Tamaki Tei

Although it is located in Uji near Kyoto, it is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most popular bakeries in Kyoto, with many fans who come from far and wide.
From standard items such as curry buns and melon buns to European-inspired breads such as baguettes and croissants, the store is filled to the brim with a wide variety of breads.

In addition, since Tamaki Tei insists on using carefully selected ingredients from Europe, Canada, and Japan, many people come to the store for the high quality items made from these fine materials.

The bakery in Uji City is probably the best bakery in Uji City. There are so many people lined up that even the parking lot is crowded. The crispiness of the croissants is addictive. I always come here to buy them.
There are a wide variety of hard deli breads and prepared breads. I always have a hard time deciding which one to choose.
Since moving to a new location, the store has become more spacious and I always visit here. I recommend the croissants.

5. Shizuya

Shizuya is a long-established bakery in Kyoto that is popular among people of all ages.
The company has been in business for 74 years and operates more than 20 stores, mainly in Kyoto City.

The bread made with the finest ingredients is available in numerous varieties, including side dish bread, sandwiches, bread, and French bread, but the most popular are Shizuya's signature "carne" and "original beef cutlet sandwich.
The Kyoto Station branch is located in front of the Hachijo Exit ticket gate of JR Kyoto Station and has excellent accessibility. Customers are constantly buying them as souvenirs or to eat on the train.
