Miffy Sakura Kitchen & Bakery is a shop with a "Japanese Culture × Miffy" theme operated by Terakoya Co., Ltd., headquartered in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, under a licensing agreement with Dick Bruna Japan. It opened on October 3, 2018, along the main street leading from Togetsukyo Bridge to the Bamboo Grove Path.
The interior features a soft pink color scheme inspired by cherry blossoms—the source of the store’s name—and houses both “Miffy Sakura Kitchen,” which sells kitchenware and souvenirs, and “Miffy Sakura Bakery,” which offers fresh-baked bread and soft-serve ice cream. The store offers a wide range of items, from household goods to food, and is known for its extensive selection of original products available exclusively at this location.
The chain has since grown to include six locations nationwide—including this Arashiyama store—in Yufuin (Oita), Karuizawa (Nagano), Kurashiki (Okayama), Kawagoe (Saitama), and Otaru (Hokkaido). The chain continues to expand, with a new store set to open in Otaru, Hokkaido, in July 2025.

The bakery section’s signature items are freshly baked Miffy-themed breads, including the “Miffy Anpan.” They also sell baked goods with a longer shelf life, and since there’s an eat-in area, it’s the perfect spot to take a break while exploring. The gift shop offers a wide selection of items, ranging from Japanese-style goods created in collaboration with traditional crafts—such as Imabari towels, chopsticks, and chopstick rests—to Miffy plush toys and pouches, including store-exclusive items.
