First up is Kozuki's Hime Senju Senbei Chestnut Mont Blanc.
Kozuki was established in 1945 and has been manufacturing and selling confectionery.
The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name "Kozuki" is "Senju Senbei.
The "Waffel" confectionery was created in 1963 by importing German machinery in search of a new type of confectionery with a new taste, and was completed in 1963 with a novel ingredient and process that had never been used in Japanese confectionery before: cream sandwiched between wave-shaped cookie dough.
Since then, it has become a confectionery with many fans not only in Kyoto but also in other parts of Japan.

The "Hime Senju Senbei" introduced here is a bite-sized version of the popular Senju Senbei that is easy to crunch and eat.
In addition to sugar cream, flavors such as organic hojicha and organic matcha are standard, and chestnut mont blanc is a limited fall item.
The rich, luxurious chestnut Mont Blanc cream with a hint of rum is a perfect match for the light Waffel dough!
You can enjoy the rich flavor of chestnuts with the richness and aroma of astringent chestnuts.

Also of note is the Premium Senju Senbei, which was just released on October 10, 2022.
The dough is made of Takaragasa, a brand of wheat flour, and condensed milk is added to the sugar cream to give it a rich, authentic taste.

Honke Nishio Yatsuhashi "Anama Autumn Three Colors

Photohttps://www.8284.co.jp/

Yatsuhashi are hard-baked crackers made by steaming a mixture of rice flour, sugar, and nikki (cinnamon), then stretching the dough into a thin layer and baking it.

In 1879, when the railroad was completed in Kyoto, Matsutaro Nishio started selling them as souvenirs at Kyoto Station, and they became famous nationwide when visitors to Kyoto bought them in 1915 during the celebrations for the accession of Emperor Taisho to the throne. Meanwhile, his son Tameharu Nishio, who took over the business from Matsutaro Nishio, exhibited Yatsuhashi at the Paris Universal Exposition in 1900 and won the Silver Prize. Tameharu is praised as the founder of the yatsuhashi industry, and many stores selling yatsuhashi are now separated from Nishio's. The yatsuhashi with the warped shape that is common today is said to have been improved by Tameharu.

Perhaps the most common product you will see is a nama-yatsuhashi (fresh yatsuhashi) wrapped in azuki or other red bean paste. This product was created in the 1960s.

The "Anama Autumn Sanshoku" is a four-piece assortment of three types of Anama: chestnut-flavored Anama, Nikki Anama, and Matcha Anama, each boxed with a paper hanging from a frame depicting the elegant autumn scenery of Kyoto.
One is filled with nostalgic Nikki-flavored sweet bean paste, the other with green tea-scented sweet bean paste, and the other with delightful chestnut crumbles! All of them are delicious and relaxing. These are representative of the royal roadside souvenirs of Kyoto that you should buy for yourself and as souvenirs.

Last but not least is the Danish specialty store Grand Marble's Danish.
Grand Marble is well known for its variety of flavors and gorgeous marbled Danish.
Each Danish is made by hand by skilled artisans. The process of making Danish involves weaving fats and oils into the dough to form layers, and Grand Marble's Danish has as many as 81 of these layers. The Danish of Grand Marble has 81 layers, which makes the outside crispy and the inside moist and fluffy, which explains why it is so delicious!

The limited-time product "Autumn Flavor of Kyoto" was created in 2011. Since then, this popular item has become a standard autumn souvenir from Kyoto.
The look is inspired by Kyoto in the autumn, and the colors are created by matcha green tea from Gion Tsujiri, sweet and sour strawberries, and brown sugar from Okinawa. The kanoko is woven into these three types of dough. It is a really nice idea to be able to enjoy various flavors in one slice. The beautiful marbled pattern will make it a great gift.
