From late March to April, cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Kyoto. In conjunction with the cherry blossom viewing season, Japanese confectioners begin selling seasonal cherry blossom wagashi, creating a festive and festive mood.

Tawaraya Yoshitomi is a long-established Japanese sweets store founded in 1755.
The main store is located about a 5-minute walk from Imadegawa Subway Station, and products are sold throughout Kyoto, including in department stores in Kyoto City and at JR Kyoto Station.
All of the three directly managed stores in the city are stylishly renovated machiya townhouses, making it tempting to linger in the space.

In spring, kuzukiri (cherry blossom kuzu-kiri) is available for a limited time only.
The smooth texture of the kuzukiri is topped with pickled cherry blossoms, and the mellow aroma of the cherry blossoms will fill your mouth with delight.
The color is slightly cherry blossom-colored, giving this Japanese confectionery a gorgeous, spring-like appearance.

The lineup of cherry blossom amber sugar, with its lovely clear pink color, is also limited to the season.
The simple box is filled with amber sugar without gaps, and just looking at it makes you feel happy.
It is a perfect souvenir.

■Kyuemon Ito

Kyuemon Ito is a tea store that has been in business since the late Edo period.
Recently, we have been collaborating with convenience store sweets, and many of you may have seen or heard our name.
Ito Kyuemon has its head office in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, and operates stores in Byodoin-mae, Gion-Shijo, and other locations in Kyoto Prefecture.
There is also a café space where you can enjoy matcha sweets.

Seasonal limited edition products are also actively being developed, with "Sakura Maccha-Dappuku" popular in the spring.
A sweet treat of green tea custard bean paste softly wrapped in cherry blossom-colored dough.
The dough is very soft and gentle to the touch. The matcha custard bean paste matches the bitterness of matcha with the sweetness of custard, and you will be able to eat as many as you want.
